For the first time I got to fish the White River in late July! Trip down was to pickup a boat and only had a couple days to fish. Was hoping for better hopper fishing but that has been a little late in coming and should be killer later in August and all September. What we did was stripped streamers looking for Big Browns! Did move some good one but most didn’t commit. Our most productive patterns were Slop Mop 4″ in olive and Circus Peanut in tan.
Lots of nice rainbows were chasing and eating our streamers!
Best bite was the midge bite. We didn’t do a lot of it but it sure produced lots of action.
