Every year I seem to spend more time on the White River and I can't get enough of chasing these Big Browns! Adding in 3 week this summer 2026 starting in July 15th.

Night time mousing for Big Brown Trout
My focus will be doing night time guided trips - mousing and streamers. These trips are for the fly anglers who wants to spend the night chasing Big Browns!
- typically start time 8pm and plan on launching here at the White River Trout Lodge
- plan on spending the night on the river or getting done in the very late night.
- rates are $600 for 1 or 2 anglers for the night time trips
- guided trip with lodging here at the White River Trout Lodge $800 per night for 1 or 2 anglers
- dinner provided here at lodge or on boat before the night fishing begins
- breakfast/lunch the next late morning/early afternoon.
- I provide all the gear and our typically rod is a 9' 8wt with floating line. Winston Air 2 Max is just such an awesome rod and our goto night time rod for Big Browns.
Cast as far as you can into the darkness. Strip. Strip. Strip. Strip. WHAM!
The fight is on. It's pulling harder than any trout you've ever fought. Close to the net. Light comes on. It makes another powerful run.

Love chasing these Big Browns in the dark!
Back to the net. Again it runs from the light. Getting tired (your arm, not the fish). Finally it comes to the net and you're staring at something too big to be a trout. That's kinda how the story goes when you catch the trout of a lifetime at night, mousing the White River.
Check out the pictures below if you don't believe it. Big browns do most of their feeding during low-light periods and at night. When the water is low, sometimes the best streamer fishing is at night.
Year-round, mousing at night can be a really productive way to drum up huge fish. The thrill of hearing a monster brown blow up your mouse in the darkness is an unforgettable experience.

Late night or all night floats on the White River
In the summer, there are some other options for Big Browns depending on conditions. Hoppers in the mornings and Sulphur hatch in the evenings. I can setup these trips for you during your summer stay but it sure requires multiple days to be combine with night time fishing.
