The White River below Bull Shoals Dam has had consistent generation, around one unit round the clock during the weekends This flow is roughly 2800-3000cfs, And larger pushes during the morning hours Monday-Friday. The flow has been great for nymphing. With recent rains, San Juan Worms have been working well in Size 14 in various shades of Pink. We have Also been seeing lots of micro caddis and Blue Wing olives after lunch. This is a great time to pick apart eddies with Dries or drop some soft hackles or emergers off your point fly. You can’t go wrong with the classics Like pheasant tails and Hares ears. The pushes from the Dam have been upwards of 10,000cfs usually ramping up around 7:00 am for a few hours and then tapering back down. These flows have been trashy and tough to fish, until they become a little longer and consistent. The Brown trout bite has been scattered. One day you’ll find a few nice browns on the move but for the most part they have settled into the redds and deserve to be left alone. Small streamers on floating lines in deep tail outs are your best bet for searching for a nicer fish right now.
